Apparatus

Washington Township Fire & Rescue has a diverse fleet of apparatus to accomplish the many missions we are charged with. All rigs (except watercraft) are equipped with Lucas County's state of the art Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) to enhance communications.
 

Engine 721

Engine 721 is a 1997 Pierce Saber that seats up to 7 firefighters. This is our first out engine and responds to all fires. Equipped with a 1500 gpm Waterous pump, 500 gallon booster tank and nearly 2000 feet of hose ranging from 1 3/4" attack lines to 5" LDH supply hose. Additional features are a Thermal Imaging Camera, Basic & Advanced Life Support EMS equipment and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) equipment for firefighter rescue.

 

Rescue Engine 722

Rescue Engine 722 is a 2006 E-One Tradition on Freightliner chassis. This engine seats up to 5 firefighters and responds second to all fires. It is equipped with the same compliment of hose as Engine 721, a 1250 GPM Hale pump and a 1,000 gallon water tank that includes a 30 gallon integrated foam cell. This engine carries all extrication equipment (Jaws of Life, air bags, etc.) and is the first responding apparatus for motor vehicle accidents. Additional features are a hydraulic ladder rack, roll-up compartment doors and LED emergency lighting package.

 

Rescue Transport Unit 723

Rescue 723 is a 1998 AEV Trauma Hawk on a Ford chassis. This unit responds second for Emergency Medical Service calls with a staff of 2 to 4 EMTs and/or Paramedics. BLS equipment includes an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), oxygen and airway equipment and trauma supplies. ALS equipment includes a Lifepak 11 monitor/defibrillator.

 

Rescue Transport Unit 724

Rescue 724 is a 2000 International Medium Duty Rescue Transport Unit. This unit responds first for Emergency Medical Service calls with a staff of 2 to 5 EMTs and/or Paramedics. BLS equipment includes an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), oxygen and airway equipment and trauma supplies. ALS equipment includes a Lifepak 12 monitor/defibrillator. This unit was donated to WTFD by Lucas County EMS after several years of service as a County Life Squad.

 

Engine 725

Engine 725 is a 1980 E-One on a Ford chassis. This engine seats up to 5 firefighters and is equipped with a 1250 gpm two-stage Darley pump and a 500 gallon booster tank. This unit carries fire fighting tools and equipment including a 35' extension ladder, a portable generator as well as Basic Life Support EMS supplies. Engine 725 responds third to all structure fires.

 

Command 728

Command 728 is a 2000 Ford Excursion. This unit is used at fires and other major emergencies by the Chief Officers as an Incident Command post. The unit is equipped with a slide out tray in rear compartment with full Incident Management equipment and multiple radios for communicating with WTFD units, Mutual Aid Departments and the U.S. Coast Guard. Command 728 is also used to tow hovercraft or Marine 1 and is used as an ALS "Echo Unit" in winter weather.

 

Hovercraft Hover 1

Hover 1 is a 1992 12' 6" Hoverguard Hovercraft. It seats up to 2 firefighters and a victim on a Stokes basket stretcher. This unit is used for ice rescues and water rescues in areas of low water.

 

Hovercraft Hover 2

Hover 2 is a 1990 12' Scat Hovercraft. It carries up to 2 Firefighters or 1 Firefighter + victim in Stokes stretcher. Like Hover 1, this unit responds primarily to ice rescues and can also used for water rescues. On a trailer, this unit has also been used with great success as a positive pressure ventilation device for structure fires in large commercial buildings such as factories, churches, etc. The fan will move over 125,000 cubic feet of air per minute.

 

Fire/Rescue Boat Marine 1

Marine 1 is a 1999 19' Carolina Skiff. This flat bottom boat was chosen because of the low water areas of the Ottawa River. It is equipped with a 250 gpm pump and handlines for firefighting and EMS supplies.
